AJ Dybantsa Lands Duke Offer; 5-Star SF is No. 1 Overall Recruit in 2025 CBB Class

AJ Dybantsa, the consensus No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, has received an offer from Duke.

Dybantsa already has offers from several other high-profile schools, including UConn, Kansas and Kentucky. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 class, earning a perfect overall grade.

The 6'9" forward transferred to Prolific Prep in California for his senior season of high school basketball and said he hopes the move continues his development.

"I'm playing a team role now. I'm playing with three McDonald's All-Americans and I have another top 100 player in the class," Dybantsa recently told Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. "So, just playing a team role and learning how to get other guys involved and do everything else on the court like defense, rebounding and playing more as a team."

Dybantsa added he does not care about the No. 1 overall ranking or hype he's received.

As a lanky scorer who can hit shots anywhere on the floor, Dybantsa said he's modeled his game after Kevin Durant, calling him "by far" his favorite NBA player. He's already had the opportunity to work out with Durant, Jayson Tatum and LeBron James, saying those workouts helped him grow his game.

Duke has remained a recruiting powerhouse since the departure of coach Mike Krzyzewski, landing top 2024 prospect Cooper Flagg as one of five 5-star players arriving in Durham this fall.

Dybantsa has given no indication of which way he's leaning, but he'd be quite a coup for coach Jon Scheyer.
