Kentucky Derby 2024 Odds: Post Positions Info and Vegas Lines for All Horses
It's known as the "most exciting two minutes in sports" for a reason. At the Kentucky Derby, a lot can happen in a little amount of time.
The 150th running of the illustrious horse race is set to occur Saturday, with the 20 horses taking their posts at approximately 6:57 p.m. ET. Then, they'll battle it out for 1 1/4 miles, with only one emerging as the 2024 champion.
Typically, the horse that wins had at least decent odds of doing so. But anything is possible, which was proved in 2022, when longshot Rich Strike (80-1) won.
Here are the full lineup and odds for the 2024 Kentucky Derby.

Preview
Fierceness showed what he was capable of in March, when he won the Florida Derby by 13 1/2 lengths. Now, the Todd Pletcher-trained colt enters the Kentucky Derby as the favorite to win with 5-2 odds.
"The horse is just a different kind. He does everything so easy, so calm, so cool," said Mike Repole, Fierceness' owner, per Beth Harris of the Associated Press.
In five career races, Fierceness owns three victories. He's finished worse than third only once. And he could soon make Pletcher a three-time Kentucky Derby winning trainer, as he previously notched victories at Churchill Downs in 2010 (Super Saver) and 2017 (Always Dreaming).
It could also help that Fierceness' jockey will be John Velazquez, a three-time Derby champion and the most experienced rider in the race. He knows what it takes to get a horse into the winner's circle at this prestigious event.
Another former Kentucky Derby-winning trainer with a horse in the 2024 field is Brad Cox, who won with Mandaloun in 2021. In fact, Cox has a pair of colts racing this year, as Catching Freedom (8-1) and Just A Touch (10-1) will each look to get him another win at Churchill Downs.
Just A Touch was sired by Justify, the 2018 Triple Crown champion. So the colt could be an interesting one to watch on Saturday.
While Catching Freedom could emerge victorious, the greatest threat to beat Fierceness is Sierra Leone, who has 3-1 odds to win. The colt will be looking to earn trainer Chad Brown his first Kentucky Derby win.
Brown has also entered Domestic Product (30-1) into Saturday's race.
"We've come in with some good shots, but we've yet to win the race," Brown said, per Gary B. Graves of the Associated Press. "So, hopefully it's our year this year."
The great thing about the Kentucky Derby is that any of the 20 horses could emerge victorious. And it will be a lot of fun to see how the race unfolds.
