Xavier Worthy, Chiefs Agree to 4-Year, $13.8M Rookie Contract Before 2024 NFL Season

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed wide receiver Xavier Worthy to his rookie deal.

Worthy's rookie contract is a four-year, $13.79 million deal with a fifth-year option, per ESPN's Field Yates.

Kansas City selected Worthy with the No. 28 overall pick in the NFL draft after trading up four spots with the Buffalo Bills to land the ex-Texas star.

Worthy shined in his final season as a Longhorn, catching 75 passes for 1,014 yards and five scores. The 21-year-old was productive in all three of his collegiate seasons for that matter, amassing 197 catches for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns.

He made waves in the pre-draft process, most notably when he set the 40-yard dash record at the NFL Scouting Combine at 4.21 seconds.

The rich just got richer when Worthy joined the Chiefs, winners of three of the past five Super Bowls. With the emergence of Rashee Rice last year and the addition of Marquise "Hollywood" Brown this offseason, Kansas City now has a fantastic trio of wideouts on paper for two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes.

Of course, there's also future Hall of Famer Travis Kelce at tight end as well, putting the Chiefs in position to have a great offense and make a run at their fourth Super Bowl since 2019.

Ultimately, Worthy looks like a great addition on paper, and now he's officially in the mix for at least four years in Kansas City.
