Gilgeous-Alexander and his wife Hailey Summers, a former University of Albany soccer player, were married on February 14.

Ares Alexander was born between Game 2 and Game 3 of the Thunder's first-round sweep of the New Orleans Pelicans.

A finalist for NBA MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 27.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists through four games to help lead Oklahoma City to the second round.

The Thunder will next play the winner of the tied first-round series between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks.

Like Fred VanVleet, who celebrated the birth of his son Fred Jr. while helping the Toronto Raptors to victory in the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals, Gilgeous-Alexander will now hope to celebrate his new fatherhood with a run to the NBA title.
