Chargers' J.K. Dobbins Says He's '100 Percent' After Recovering from Achilles Injury

Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins revealed that he's fully recovered from a torn Achilles that ended his 2023 season in Week 1.

"I'm 100 percent now," Dobbins said on Monday, per Nick Shook of NFL.com. "It was like a walk in the park, it was like a sprained ankle. It was very easy, because I had the knee [injury] -- the knee was pretty hard. The Achilles was, I would say, easy, just because that's my mentality. It was pretty easy to me. I've had these injuries."

The former Baltimore Ravens running back joined the Chargers on April 18, signing a one-year deal worth $1.61 million in free agency (via Spotrac).

Dobbins has struggled with injuries throughout his brief career, missing the entire 2021 season after suffering a torn ACL in training camp. He also appeared in just eight games during his ensuing 2022 campaign due to a separate knee issue.

"It's been a storm the past two years, having great games, and then, the next thing you know, hurt," Dobbins said, via Shook. "Got the injury-prone [label] out there, but I think that the storm is over with. I think that I'm going to take off now. There will be no setbacks. The injury-prone thing will be gone, out of the window, again."

After accounting for 925 yards from scrimmage in 15 games during his rookie season, the 25-year-old will attempt to return to form and improve a Chargers rushing attack that averaged the eighth-fewest yards per game on the ground in 2023.

He'll be joined by some familiar faces, as Los Angeles also signed former Ravens running back Gus Edwards to a two-year deal in free agency. Greg Roman, Baltimore's former offensive coordinator, will fill the same role for the Chargers during the 2024 season.

With Dobbins 100 percent healthy ahead of training camp, he should be in line for a bounce-back season if he's able to stay on the field.
