Raiders Insider on Tom Brady: 'Don't Hold Your Breath' QB Unretires After NFL Draft

Tom Brady opened up the rumor mill earlier in April when he said he would potentially be open to a midseason return to a contender if they needed a quarterback, citing the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots as destinations he would be open to in such a scenario.

He added that he didn't know if the NFL would even allow it, given his efforts to become a minority owner of the Raiders, but the comments alone sparked plenty of speculation.

As for the Raiders, however, expect them to head into the 2023 season with their current slate of quarterbacking options.

According to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez: "Unless Tom Brady is ready to come out of retirement—don't hold your breath—[the Raiders are ready to roll with Aidan O'Connell or Gardner Minshew at quarterback]."

The 46-year-old Brady might legitimately be an upgrade over both, even after a year away from the sport. That's not only a testament to his legendary career and longevity, but also a reminder of the pretty huge question marks the Raiders currently have at the position.
