Eagles Rumors: WR John Ross to Attend Rookie Camp as Tryout; No. 9 Draft Pick in 2017
John Ross, the No. 9 pick in the 2017 NFL draft, will attend the Philadelphia Eagles rookie camp as a tryout, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Ross, a former receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants, has not played in the NFL since 2021. He spent the 2023 offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs but did not appear in any games.
Now, three seasons removed from his last NFL snap, the 28-year-old will look to make a comeback.

Ross showed plenty of promise ahead of his NFL career. He notched 1,150 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in his final year at Washington and recorded a then-record 4.22-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine.
He got off to a slow start for the Bengals, appearing in just three games and landing on the injured reserve list in December with a shoulder injury. He had a better showing in 2018, picking up 210 yards and seven touchdowns on 21 receptions. In 2019, he recorded 506 yards and three touchdowns on 28 receptions.
The following season, playing in just three games in 2020 and was put on the injured reserve in November, shutting down his season. In his last season, Ross had 224 yards and a touchdown in 10 games.
Ross has struggled to find his place in the NFL, but he still has time to make a comeback. He will have a big challenge trying to work his way into the Eagles' talented receiver room, but it seems to be a challenge he's ready to embrace.
