NFL Rumors: John Franklin-Myers Traded to Broncos from Jets After Zach Wilson Deal
Zach Wilson is not the only 2023 New York Jet heading to the Denver Broncos this offseason.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Jets have agreed to trade defensive end John Franklin-Myers to Denver in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Franklin-Myers also agreed to a new contract as part of the trade, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler:
Franklin-Myers has been with New York since the 2020 season. He recorded 17.5 sacks, 61 quarterback hits and 125 total tackles during his time with the Jets.
Following the deal, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Franklin-Myers had agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with Denver. While this is technically a pay cut from the $29 million he could have earned in New York, ESPN's Rich Cimini reported that he would have had a dip in play time with the team while he will play a larger role in the Broncos offense.
The Jets notably acquired Haason Reddick form the Philadelphia Eagles in April, which made Franklin Myers expendable. Reddick recorded 11 sacks in 2023 and has been named to the Pro Bowl two times.
New York has saved $7.3 million against the salary cap as a result of the move.
He will join a Broncos team that recorded 42 sacks in 2023 and went 8-9.
