LeSean McCoy Loses $250K Bet on Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia: 'I Just Got Cooooked'
Former NFL running back LeSean McCoy bet $250,000 on Devin Haney in his matchup against Ryan Garcia on Saturday, a wager that would have only netted McCoy $25,000 in profit had it hit.
Garcia, of course, won the fight by majority decision, leaving McCoy down a quarter of a million dollars—and down bad in the process:

McCoy wasn't the only one who lost big money on Haney—UFC star Israel Adesanya is down $20,000 after Saturday night:
And then there's Garcia himself.
Both he and Haney said they would pay the other $500,000 for each pound they were over the 140-pound weight limit. While Haney made weight, Garcia came in at 143.2, meaning he owed Haney $1.5 million. Haney said Garcia made good on the bet.
That also meant that Garcia wasn't eligible to claim Haney's WBC junior welterweight title.
The win itself was more important, however, keeping Garcia's star power high after his loss to Gervonta Davis a year ago called it into question. Another loss in a premier matchup—paired with his outlandish and at times downright bizarre behavior in the lead-up to this fight, which raised eyebrows around the boxing world—would have severely limited his drawing power.
"You really thought I was crazy?" Garcia asked the crowd during his post-fight interview in the ring. "You done lost your own minds."
Haney—who lost his perfect record in defeat—is hoping for a rematch, meanwhile.
"I would love to rematch, I gave him a shot and I'll take a shot right back," he told reporters.
It's a fight the boxing world would surely love to see. If it happens, McCoy may want to consider what he wagers very, very carefully.
