WWW's Seth Rollins Had Surgery on Knee Injury for Torn Meniscus, Becky Lynch Reveals

WWE superstar Seth Rollins underwent surgery for a torn meniscus Tuesday.

Fellow WWE superstar (and Rollins' wife) Becky Lynch revealed that news to Patrick Kielty on the Late Late Show (h/t Fightful Wrestling).

Per Mike Johnson of PW Insider, Rollins suffered a Grade 2 MCL tear and a partially torn meniscus in his left knee in January. He took off for nearly two months before returning to the ring on March 9. Rollins' last in-ring appearances pre-surgery occurred at WrestleMania, which occurred on April 6 and 7.

There is no word at this time on Rollins' timetable for a return, per Johnson.

Despite the knee injuries, Rollins wrestled seven times from March 9-April 7. He took part in four tag team matches alongside Cody Rhodes against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at WWE Live: Road to WrestleMania. Rollins and Sikoa then fought to a draw the Monday before WrestleMania.

Rollins and Rhodes then participated in a 45-minute tag team match against Roman Reigns and The Rock on Night 1 of WrestleMania. Rollins then dropped the World Heavyweight Championship belt to Drew McIntyre on Night 2. Needless to say, doing all that despite serious knee injuries is a testament to Rollins' work ethic and resolve.

This is obviously a tough blow for Rollins, WWE and its fans. He enjoyed a great run of nearly one entire calendar year as champion capped by his participation in a sensational angle. Now he'll be resting and rehabbing in hopes of returning soon enough at 100 percent.
