Video: 49ers' Brock Purdy Talks Saving Reporter from Coyote During Commercial Shoot
Being an NFL quarterback requires a lot of situational awareness.
The San Francisco 49ers' Brock Purdy confirmed Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show he alerted a local reporter to a nearby coyote when he was filming a commercial for John Deere.

The story apparently flew under the radar because CBS News Bay Area's Sara Donchey first recounted the scene during an on-air segment in February. She said she was following the filming with her dog when she heard Purdy scream that a coyote was approaching.
Donchey downplayed the danger she faced in the moment, telling her co-anchor her dog is "huge" and "would've been fine." She added it was a stretch to say Purdy "saved" her life.
A native of Arizona, Purdy is probably pretty familiar with coyotes and he might have picked up a thing or two at his alma mater as well.
If nothing else, his quick thinking helped to avert a more serious situation.
