Video: WWE Reveals New World Tag Team Championships to Replaces WWE Raw Tag Titles

On Monday, WWE announced that the Raw Tag-Titles will now be known as the World Tag-Team Championships to go along with brand new title belts.

The duo of R-Truth and The Miz, known as Awesome Truth, were officially crowned as the World Tag Team Champions after they emerged victorious alongside A-Down Town Under following a six-way tag team ladder match during the first night of WrestleMania 40 on April 6.

The two belts were presented to them by Triple H himself during Monday's Raw.

Chris Vanni of The Athletic noted that WWE now has a new Tag Team Championship belt design for the first time since 2010.

Following the presentation, Triple H left and a triple threat tag team match was held to determine the first challengers. After a hard-fought match, a double team effort by Tomasson Ciampa and Johnny Gargano of DIY allowed the duo to emerge victorious and become No. 1 contenders to earn a shot at the brand new belts.
