Brandon Aiyuk Rumors About 49ers Trade Request Denied by Agent amid Contract Buzz

Brandon Aiyuk's agent dispelled the notion that the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver requested a trade.

Ryan Williams took to social media Sunday and responded to a post saying Aiyuk requested a trade by simply saying, "you need better sources."

This comes after Aiyuk, who is entering the final season of his contract, generated buzz by unfollowing the 49ers on Instagram:

The wide receiver's status with San Francisco has been a major talking point all offseason. He addressed it himself during an appearance on the Nightcap podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson last month (h/t Ian Casselberry of Yahoo Sports).

"I'm trying to get what I deserve," Aiyuk said. "I feel like this season, this season playing football, I figured out who I was as a person and a player, what I bring to the table, what I bring to the locker room, what I bring to the organization. And just the value I hold when I walk in that building."

San Francisco general manager John Lynch also said last month that the team is "actively talking with Brandon trying to figure something out," per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.

"We have a good history of working with the guys we want to get done to get something done and it takes two sides," he continued. "So, can we do that? We'll see. There's a number of different directions that it could go but we appreciate the heck out of Brandon and who he is as a player, and we want him to be a part of the Niners. We're going to work towards making that a reality."

Yet Aiyuk seemed to say "money talks, bulls--t walks" in response to those comments:

At this point, Aiyuk is still a member of a 49ers team that will be looking to return to the Super Bowl for the second straight year.

Perhaps a trade request will come at some point, but his agent seemed to indicate that is not the case for now.
