Doric SamJul 2, 2024

Veteran forward Kyle Anderson is on the move this offseason.

Anderson, who became a free agent this summer after spending the last two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, reportedly agreed to a sign-and-trade that will land him with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Anderson will sign a three-year, $27 million contract as part of the sign-and-trade.

During the 2023-24 season, Anderson appeared in 79 games with 10 starts for Minnesota and averaged 6.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 22.6 minutes of action.

The 30-year-old entered the NBA as the 30th overall pick in the 2014 draft by the San Antonio Spurs. After spending the first four years of his career in San Antonio, Anderson joined the Memphis Grizzlies in 2018 and remained with the team until 2022. He averaged a career-high 12.4 points during the 2020-21 campaign, the only time in his 10-year career that he's averaged over 10 points in a season.

While Anderson's production may seem modest, he's a smart playmaker and a reliable defender who can play multiple positions. He's been able to thrive throughout his career as a quintessential "glue guy," and that will certainly continue with Golden State.

By adding Anderson, the Warriors are attempting to retool their roster after Klay Thompson's exit.
