Jordan Mailata, Eagles Agree to Reported 3-Year, $66M Contract Extension

Left tackle Jordan Mailata has agreed to a three-year, $66 million extension with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced Thursday.

The deal includes $48 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus, keeping Mailata with the Eagles through the 2028 season, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Earning $22 million per year, Mailata trails only Laremy Tunsil, Trent Williams and Andrew Thomas for the league's highest-paid offensive tackles.

Mailata, 27, was drafted by Philadelphia in 2018 and has been with the team his entire career.

Mailata, who transitioned into the NFL after playing rugby in Australia, thrived for the Eagles last season. He recorded an 84.1 PFF grade, allowing just three sacks in 1,147 offensive snaps played.

A few weeks before extending Mailata, the Eagles gave guard Landon Dickerson a four-year extension worth up to $87 million. Last year, they extended tackle Lane Johnson through the 2026 season.

While Philadelphia lost a key component of its offensive line when Jason Kelce retired, the Eagles still have a solid core that will stay together for a few more seasons.

Philadelphia boasted the top offensive line last season, per PFF. The Eagles' offense had the eighth-most rushing yards and the ninth-best yards per carry, and both of those numbers could improve this year with running back Saquon Barkley joining the mix.

The Eagles had a disappointing playoff exit in the wild-card round last year, but retaining most of its outstanding offensive line will be a huge part of improving in 2024.
