Chiefs' Rashee Rice Acknowledged Driving Lamborghini Involved in Crash, Attorney Says

New information has been revealed regarding Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice's involvement in a six-car accident that occurred on Saturday in Dallas.

While speaking to reporters during a news conference on Thursday, Rice's attorney, Texas state senator Royce West, said that Rice acknowledged that he was driving the Lamborghini that authorities determined was one of two vehicles responsible for the accident on Dallas' North Central Expressway.

During the news conference, West was also asked if he thinks the Dallas district attorney will file charges against Rice and he responded, "Yes." He added that he has yet to speak to the Chiefs regarding the matter.

The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that authorities said the Lamborghini leased by Rice and a Corvette were speeding when they lost control. The Lamborghini went onto the shoulder and hit the center median wall, leading to the collision with the other vehicles. Four people were treated for minor injuries following the crash.

Police said the occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene without providing their information or determining whether anyone involved in the accident needed medical attention.

Rice took to social media on Wednesday to apologize and announce that he is taking "full responsibility" for his involvement in the accident and he's cooperating with authorities:

West said Thursday that he believes his client shouldn't be judged too harshly after a single incident.

"Why don't you do a story of who he is, as opposed to what occurred? Because it seems as though what you're saying is based on this one incident, you're going to define him based on this incident, as opposed to his entire body of work," West said. "I would say each and every one of you, if all of us had to be defined by one incident, that would be ridiculous, as opposed to our entire body. So I'd ask that you as the media, look at his entire body of work before saying exactly who he is. That will be better."

Rice was a second-round pick by the Chiefs in 2023. He played 16 regular-season games and appeared in all four playoff games as Kansas City went on to win its second straight Super Bowl.
