Stefon Diggs Thanks Bills on IG amid Texans Trade: 'Sadly Good Things Come to an End'

Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans on Wednesday after four seasons with the Buffalo Bills in a deal that brought back a second-round pick to his former team.

On Instagram, he paid his respects to the city of Buffalo:

Diggs' time in Buffalo was fruitful. He was a four-time Pro Bowler, one-time first-team All-Pro selection, reached the playoffs in four straight seasons and registered at least 100 catches, 1,100 receiving yards and eight scores in each campaign.

But the Bills have undergone major changes this offseason, releasing a number of veteran players and letting others walk in free agency as they looked to get under the salary cap.

Trading Diggs won't offer them salary relief this season—they are on the hook for a whopping $31 million in dead cap—but it does take him off the books for them after this season, allowing them the chance to potentially retool in a major way next offseason.

In Houston, meanwhile, Diggs will join what is expected to be one of the most prolific offenses in football behind quarterback C.J. Stroud, running back Joe Mixon, tight end Dalton Schultz and wideouts Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

The Texans were one of the best stories in football last season, winning the AFC South after winning just 11 games between the 2020-22 campaigns. Few teams boast the playmaking ability and home run-hitting potential of this offense, and the Texans are clearly going for broke while they have the added cap space of a star quarterback on a rookie contract.

It's looking like a party in Houston. In Buffalo, Josh Allen may be feeling a little lonely.
