Stefon Diggs Trade Has NFL Fans Praising C.J. Stroud, Texans for Winning Offseason

The Houston Texans continued their busy offseason by acquiring one of the best wide receivers in the NFL on Wednesday.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans are finalizing a trade with the Buffalo Bills that will bring four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs to Houston in exchange for draft-pick compensation.

The prospect of adding an incredible talent like Diggs to an offense led by NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud has some, like ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, believing that the Texans are the clear-cut winners of the offseason so far:

Orlovsky wasn't alone in praising Houston, as those on social media were impressed by the team's commitment to improving its talent around Stroud:

Diggs, who was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the Bills in 2020, has been one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL in recent years. He's surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in each of the last six seasons, recording over 100 catches five times in that span.

The addition of Diggs will make Houston's offense even more explosive. Stroud burst onto the scene as a rookie with impressive passing displays, including his accuracy on his deep passes. He will surely enjoy having a talent like Diggs on the outside, and the veteran should open up opportunities for the Texans' young receivers like Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

The lone detraction for Diggs is his penchant for not holding back his frustration. He was seen berating Bills quarterback Josh Allen on the sideline multiple times during playoff losses. He also stirred up controversy last offseason when he missed the first day of Buffalo's mandatory minicamp.

However, it's likely that the move to Houston will be a breath of fresh air for Diggs, as he's joining one of the fastest-rising teams in the league. The Texans won the AFC South for the first time since 2019 and advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs last season, so they are projected to be among the top contenders in the AFC in 2024.

Teams around the NFL will be shuddering at the thought of defending Houston's talented offense, which will be even more dangerous with Diggs added to the mix.
