Shams: Steph Curry, Klay vs. Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Discussed for NBA All-Star 2025

Caitlin Clark has become the face of college basketball during her incredible career at Iowa, and she reportedly may be on the NBA All-Star stage as soon as next year.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry faced New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu in a memorable three-point showdown at this season's NBA All-Star Weekend, and Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium said during an appearance on FanDuel's Run It Back that such a matchup is "very likely for next year as well."

However, it could come with a twist with Klay Thompson and Clark joining the other sharpshooters in a two-versus-two competition:

The battle between Curry and Ionescu was arguably the highlight of the entire All-Star Weekend, especially with the actual game featuring about as much defense as the three-point contest itself.

Ionescu set the tone with 26 points while shooting from the NBA line, which was a score that would have put her into the final round of the three-point contest that Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard won.

The only problem for her is Curry is the greatest shooter of all time.

He put on a show on his way to 29 points, electrifying the crowd as the victor in a battle that more than lived up to the hype.

Next year's All-Star Weekend is at Chase Center, which is the home of the Warriors. Including Thompson and pairing up the Splash Brothers in front of the home crowd in the event makes sense, although he would have to re-sign with Golden State as a pending free agent this offseason to ensure he will still be playing in front of the home fans.

As for the other side, Clark has captured the attention of the nation as a record-breaking superstar with the Hawkeyes. She became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer this season and propelled Iowa into the Final Four with 41 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds, two steals and nine made three-pointers during Monday's Elite Eight win over LSU.

Shooting from the NBA line will not be a problem for her either, as one of her signature moves is launching three-pointers from well beyond the arc.

Clark was appointment viewing in every arena she played in this season, and teaming her with an established WNBA star like Ionescu to face off against the Splash Brothers will only add more excitement to an event that could be trending toward becoming an annual tradition.
