Hawks' Bogdanović Downplays Heated Exchange with HC Snyder: 'Fighting All the Time'

Tyler ConwayApr 2, 2024

Fans may have been unsettled by the heated exchange between Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanović and coach Quin Snyder late in Monday's win over the Chicago Bulls, but neither of the two men involved seemed bothered after the game.

Bogdanović and Snyder both downplayed any tension during their postgame press conferences.

"We are doing this almost every other minute or we are verbally fighting all the time, which is normal. That means we both care and everyone cares. ... Quin is my guy, for sure. And, he was pushing me through the whole year. We had this like, fights, little fights. It's normal that happens," Bogdanović told reporters.

Snyder added that he and Bogdanović are in a "great" place in their relationship.

Bogdanović finished with a team-high 20 points, four rebounds, six assists and two blocks to lead the Hawks to a 113-101 win over the Bulls. What made the exchange confusing was the fact it happened with under two minutes remaining in the game and the Hawks starters sitting on the bench.

Snyder clearly said something in the huddle that set Bogdanović into a rage, and the coach immediately walked over to his player to hug it out after Bogdanović was pulled away by teammates.

Atlanta has won five of its last six games and has been playing some of its best basketball of the season despite the loss of Trae Young. The Hawks are now essentially a mortal lock for a play-in berth rematch against these Bulls in a couple weeks.
