WrestleMania XL Greatest Ever?, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley 2nd Best, More WWE Raw Takes

Kevin BergeApr 2, 2024

It is WrestleMania week, and Monday Night Raw brought the excitement for the go-home show before WrestleMania XL.

The Rock and Roman Reigns confidently opened and closed the episode on top, taking down both Cody Rhodes and Seth "Freakin" Rollins.

Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch could not be kept apart just days before their battle for the Women's World Championship.

Gunther made a statement by laying out Sami Zayn and Chad Gable, ruining Zayn's chance to avenge his loss to "Big" Bronson Reed.

The Judgment Day pulled out an important win over DIY and New Day before defending the Undisputed Tag Team Championships in a ladder match at WrestleMania.

All around, it was an exciting night that sold the feeling that it is truly WrestleMania time ahead of what could be the greatest show WWE has ever produced.

WrestleMania XL Can Be WWE's Greatest WrestleMania

1 of 4

WrestleMania XL has a monumental building, coming off the second great Monday Night Raw in as many weeks. It feels like something special is building.

The two-night format has led to strong shows in the past two years, but this year feels special. The product has more hype. The talent is motivated. The stories are distinct and memorable.

The Bloodline vs. Cody Rhodes and Seth "Freakin" Rollins has been a special story to watch unfold. It is a story that is defining all of WWE.

If both main events land, it will not take much more than expected quality from the rest of the card to make this one of if not the greatest WrestleMania of all time.

Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch, Iyo Sky vs. Bayley, Gunther vs. Sami Zayn and more stand out on this loaded card.

Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley Is 2nd Hottest Feud Going into WrestleMania

2 of 4

From early teases, Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch felt like one of the biggest stories that WWE could produce, but it had some rocky weeks.

Luckily, with the past two weeks of stellar build, it feels like everyone needs to see Mami and The Man clash.

If The Bloodline angle had not taken over the entire WrestleMania XL card, this would have been the match for the Night 1 main event.

Ripley and Lynch will look to deliver the best match of their careers. If they pull it off, they may steal the entire show from a loaded roster.

Damian Priest Must Cash-In At WrestleMania to Make Judgment Day Matter Again

3 of 4

The Judgment Day has very little momentum left. Rhea Ripley reigns atop the women's division, but she almost feels above the rest of her own stable.

The other man that should have clear hype behind him is Damian Priest, but Sr. Money in the Bank is an afterthought on this WrestleMania card.

He and Finn Bálor will be preoccupied defending the Undisputed Tag Team Championships on Night 1, but the tag team division need to move past Judgment Day to thrive.

The Punishment himself needs to move beyond tagging with The Prince and find his own voice again.

Everything completely change if The Punishment were to cash in at WrestleMania XL.

The likely result would be taking the World Heavyweight Championship at the end of Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre. However, Priest could go even bigger by ruining Cody Rhodes' big celebration at the end of Night 2.

Either way, Priest can get himself, and by extension, his stable back on track with a memorable cash-in.

WWE Has Rushed Gunther vs. Sami Zayn

4 of 4

WWE took too long to build Gunther's Intercontinental Championship match. While The Ring General and Sami Zayn are great, they needed more time to tell their story.

Instead, The Ultimate Underdog lost a week before WrestleMania, lost his confidence, then got it back the following week by working with Chad Gable.

This is all happening so fast that it comes off as a last minute decision to make Zayn seem credible. It is not fully working.

It is a shame as both will likely work extra hard at WrestleMania to make the most of the spotlight, but the best work may come after The Show of Shows.
