The game swung the other way as Bridges and the Nets began to push back in the second quarter.

The Nets' recovery was too little, too late to overcome the Lakers' starters, who combined for 65 of the team's 67 first-half points.

Davis finished the game with 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Rui Hachimura added 20 points and 10 rebounds.

This dominance by the Lakers starters' led fans to predict Los Angeles as a playoff threat.

Los Angeles made it to the Western Conference Finals last season before the team was swept by the Denver Nuggets. This year, fans are expecting James to lead the team on a deeper run.

The Lakers, having won six of their last seven games, are threatening to overtake the Sacramento Kings for the No. 8 seed in the West.
