Iowa's Caitlin Clark: Angel Reese, LSU March Madness Rematch Great for Women's CBB

Iowa's Caitlin Clark and LSU's Angel Reese are set up for a legendary rematch of the 2023 NCAA tournament final on Monday.

The Hawkeyes and Tigers will square off in Elite Eight action with a berth in the Final Four on the line, and Clark knows the matchup is going to be "great" for the growth of the women's game.

"It's so good for women's basketball and to be honest, I've watched a lot of LSU games and what they're doing for women's basketball and the way their fans support is tremendous and it's been fun to watch," Clark told ESPN's Holly Rowe following Iowa's 89-68 win over Colorado in the Sweet 16 on Saturday.

"They've had a great season so I know it's going to be a great game and both teams are going to be ready to go and it's just going to be great for our game and we couldn't be more excited."

Iowa and LSU met in last year's title game, and the Tigers came out on top 102-85 to claim their first NCAA title.

Before the game ended, Reese pointed to her ring finger and looked toward Clark in what proved to be one of the most viral moments of the contest. From that moment on, fans have been clamoring for a rematch.

If Reese and the Tigers win, they'll be one step closer to repeating as national champions. If Iowa comes out on top, Clark will continue what has been a legendary NCAA career in pursuit of her first championship.
