Miami Open Masters 2024: Men's Semifinals Scores, Updated Finals Schedule

Nicholas NathansonMar 30, 2024

Jannik Sinner's semifinal victory over Daniil Medvedev and return to the Miami Open final for the third time in four years is not too surprising considering the Italian has lost just two completed matches since October 10, 2023.

What is surprising, though, is the manner in which he defeated Medvedev, an opponent who, up until last year, had given Sinner all sorts of trouble and even won their first six head-to-head matches.

But this version of Jannik Sinner, who has been nearly impossible to beat, defeated Medvedev for the fifth consecutive time, needing just 69 minutes en route to a decisive 6-2, 6-1 victory.

Sinner's opponent, Bulgarian and No. 11 seed Grigor Dimitrov, enters the final off the heels of an impressive 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-4 victory over Alexander Zverev.

Shots like the one above, combined with consistency, discipline, and incredible fitness, have helped guide the 32-year-old to back-to-back victories over top five opponents for just the second time in his career.

With the semifinal win, Dimitrov enters the ATP top 10 for the first time since November 2018 with hopes of winning his second ever ATP Masters 1000 championship.

To do that, though, Dimitrov will have to be nearly flawless, playing against an opponent who, for the last six months, has without a doubt been the best player on tour.

The two will face off Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET, with the broadcast on Tennis Channel.
