Patriots Rumors: Mayo, Execs 'Likely' to Attend Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye Pro Days
The New England Patriots are expected to take one last look at LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels and North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye before the 2024 NFL draft, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Reiss reported head coach Jerod Mayo and director of scouting Eliot Wolf "will likely" attend Daniels and Maye's respective pro days this coming week.
The Patriots left little room for doubt about their first-round plans when they traded quarterback Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's safe to assume they won't be rolling into next year with Jacoby Brissett and Bailey Zappe as their top two options at the position.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
What's less certain is who will land in New England. USC's Caleb Williams is the consensus pick for the Chicago Bears at No. 1, but there's far less agreement about whether Maye or Daniels is the next best available.
Maye was projected to be the choice of the Washington Commanders at No. 2 in Bleacher Report's most recent mock draft, which left Daniels going to the Pats.
There's some risk with Daniels. At 23, he's on the older side for a draft prospect, and a lot of the hype surrounding him comes on the basis of one season. But both things could've been said about Joe Burrow when he was coming out of LSU and he has fully delivered for the Cincinnati Bengals.
By this point of the pre-draft process, New England's coaching staff and front office have fully performed their homework on Maye and Daniels. Attending their pro days might allow team officials to resolve any unanswered questions.
