Potential Upset: Arizona over Syracuse
2 of 3
Do not let the 23-7 record of the Syracuse Orange is deceptive.
The team faced a strength of schedule that ranked 66th in the nation, are not a particularly strong shooting team (46.3 from the paint and 32.1 from outside, per The Athletic), and are facing an Arizona team that forces turnovers and can play defense.
Guard Helena Pueyo has 103 steals to her name this season and is a threat to turn games in her teams' favor every time she touches the ball.
If Pueyo can make her presence felt and gather a few steals, it will limit possessions for a Syracuse team that already only averages 73.3 possessions per game.
Forcing turnovers and keeping the ball out of playmaker Dyaisha Fair's (22 points per game), will set the Wildcats up to stun the sixth seed and advance to the next round.

The team shot .355 from beyond the arc this season while taking 804 shots. It is not surprising as head coach Karl Smesko introduced and popularized the shot in the women's game.
They also incorporate a slow pace that cuts down on possessions and forces the opposition to make the most of every opportunity they get. The team, themselves, averaged 67.1 possessions per game.
If they can bring that element of their game to their match-up with the Sooners, offsetting their distribution strength and efficiently hitting threes, they absolutely can defeat an Oklahoma team that
