NFL Trade Rumors: Stefon Diggs Expected to Remain with Bills Despite Cryptic Tweet

Andrew PetersMar 18, 2024

Despite a cryptic social media post from Stefon Diggs, the wide receiver is expected to remain with the Buffalo Bills next season, per ESPN's Dan Graziano.

"Calling around about this to people close to the situation, most of what I got back was: 'This is Stefon Diggs. He does this a lot, and ultimately they've been able to patch it up every time with Buffalo,'" Graziano said on SportsCenter on Monday. "As of now, my expectation is that he's on this year's Bills."

Last week, Diggs posted "Ready for watever" on social media, which could've been his way of letting the team know he is open to moving on.

Diggs, who has been with the Bills since 2020, is under contract through the 2027 season and is set to make $18.5 million in 2024.

The Bills fell just shy of beating the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the 2023 playoffs. Buffalo is certainly capable of competing for a championship with quarterback Josh Allen under center and Diggs at receiver, so the odds that the Bills would jeopardize that by trading Diggs are slim.

Perhaps his post had nothing to do with football and he was merely attempting to stir up conversation.

Diggs has notched more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last six seasons and has been one of the league's top receivers year in and year out. In 2023, he had his worst campaign since joining the Bills but still notched 1,183 receiving yards and eight touchdowns to earn a Pro Bowl selection.
