Alabama vs. LSU Predictions: Winning Bets for National Championship Game
The Allstate BCS Championship Game is less than four days away, which means you need to act fast to get your bets in before the lines shift more as public action continues to pour in.
As of right now, ScoresAndOdds has the point spread, over/under and a few prop bets for the game, so let’s take a look at some of these.
Alabama (-1)
This line has shifted from LSU -1 to a pick ‘em to the current number. It’s an interesting game and no one is quite sure who is going to win.
However, ‘Bama is a safe play and would have handily won in the regular season had their field-goal kickers been a tad more accurate.
Lay the point and go with the Crimson Tide.
Over/Under 40
Did everyone forget these teams averaged over 35 points each during the season?
The one time they played was a defensive war, but they have had plenty of time to review the tape and learn where they can exploit one another.
The defenses are good, but they each have flaws and can be exploited by these competent offenses.
Go with the over in a game that will be higher scoring than many think.
Player to Score First TD
You have to love Jordan Jefferson at 12-1 odds here. He had one of his better rushing games of the season against Alabama and the Tigers are going to want to take advantage of his feet to open some opportunities up down the field.
Other solid choices are Trent Richardson at 3-1, Michael Ford at 12-1 and Marquis Maze at 8-1.
Will Either Team Score in the First Seven Minutes (Yes +100, No -130) / First Score of the Game Will Be A (Touchdown -200, Other +160)
Consider parlaying here. If you think someone is going to come out hot and score a TD, take the seven-minute bet +100 with first score a touchdown -200.
If you feel it could be slow start, go with No -130 and Other +160.
The latter has a great chance of hitting and these teams may be hesitant to go for the big play at first, preferring to feel the other out and play field position.
