NFL Fans Praise Steelers for Fleecing Bears in Justin Fields Trade After Wilson Deal
Justin Fields is heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Chicago Bears traded the 2021 11th overall pick to the Steelers for a 2025 sixth-round pick that can convert into a fourth-round pick based on playtime. The deal lands him in a quarterback room that recently signed Russell Wilson, and the expectation is that Fields will play behind Wilson.
It was expected that the Bears would trade Fields, as they'll likely take a quarterback with the first pick in the 2024 NFL draft. What wasn't expected was for the Bears to give him away for a relatively low cost. The deal had fans praising the Steelers for acquiring Fields for just a draft pick.

Fields, who just wrapped up his third NFL season, had 2,562 passing yards and 16 touchdowns in 2023 in 13 games for the Bears. Wilson, who was released from the Denver Broncos, had 3,070 passing yards and 26 touchdowns last season.
The new dynamic in Pittsburgh between Wilson and Fields will be interesting, but there's no doubt that the Steelers have improved their quarterback room this offseason.
