ACC Tournament 2024: Day 4 Schedule, Live Stream Info and Men's Bracket Predictions
The 2024 ACC tournament is the North Carolina Tar Heels' event to lose.
The Tar Heels are the only one of the ACC's three predicted NCAA tournament teams left in the field for Friday's semifinals in Washington, D.C.
Thursday's quarterfinal results, which included the NC State Wolfpack's upset of the Duke Blue Devils, shook up the bubble conversation for the Virginia Cavaliers and Pittsburgh Panthers.
Duke's loss means Virginia does not have a Quad 1 win to earn in the semifinals. Instead, the Cavaliers probably have to beat the No. 10 seed in the ACC to set up a championship clash with UNC.
Pittsburgh won the quarterfinal bubble battle with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, but it likely has more work to do on Friday against UNC because of results in other conference tournaments.

North Carolina Handles Business to Land No. 1 Seed in NCAA Tournament
2 of 3
North Carolina's 92-67 win over the Florida State Seminoles was a statement to the rest of the ACC that the program wants to win its first ACC tournament since 2016.
The Tar Heels were the best team in the conference during the regular season and that showed again on Thursday as they won in dominant fashion and Duke stumbled against NC State.
UNC is safely in the tournament, but it is still playing for something, like Virginia and Pittsburgh.
The Tar Heels could claim the fourth No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament with an ACC tournament triumph.
That became a possibility when the Arizona Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers slipped up in their respective regular-season finales.
Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller currently has Tennessee as the fourth No. 1 seed and UNC as the No. 2 seed in the Vols' region.
Arizona and Tennessee will each face tougher opponents than UNC over the next few days, and if the Heels are the only tournament champion among the trio, it has a case to land the final No. 1 seed alongside the Connecticut Huskies, Houston Cougars and Purdue Boilermakers.
Pittsburgh, Virginia Forced to Sweat out Bubble Hopes
3 of 3
Pittsburgh and Virginia each need to beat North Carolina to feel more comfortable about their spots in the field of 68.
Pitt controlled its bubble battle with Wake on Thursday, but it has to play with the same intensity to pull off the upset of UNC on Friday.
Virginia would prefer for UNC to win so that it has a chance to earn another Quad 1 victory before the selection committee finalizes its decision. NC State's win over Duke took away the potential for that opportunity in the semifinal.
The Cavaliers need to beat NC State to ensure there is not one more bid stealer lurking around over the weekend. The Atlantic 10 is already confirmed to have a bid stealer with the Dayton Flyers' elimination on Thursday.
Miller projected Virginia as the second-to-last team in and Pittsburgh as the third team out in his bracket update.
That suggests either team needs to win the ACC's automatic bid, or for Pitt to beat UNC in the semifinal, to feel safe, but neither may happen if the Tar Heels play the same way they did on Thursday.
