Miami Heat: Latest Updates on LeBron James and Dwyane Wade Injuries
The Miami Heat are starting to feel the bitter cold of winter. It started with Dwayne Wade having to sit out of Wednesday's game against Indiana with a foot contusion, and it got worse during that game when LeBron James went down in the third quarter with a sprained ankle.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, neither injury is considered serious and both of them could be ready to go when the team plays Atlanta on Thursday night.
"Both players are being considered questionable for Thursday's rematch against the Hawks, who handed Miami its only loss on Monday. James said he will not let Wade's status affect his decision on Thursday.
"
The James injury would be more concerning at this point. Even though sprained ankles are common, it is not something that a player can just rush right back from. His game is predicated on speed and cutting, which obviously become more difficult with his foot swollen up.
It would not be a shock if the Heat were to sit James for one game and brought him back on Saturday against New Jersey.
Wade, on the other hand, sounds like he will be ready to go against Atlanta. Windhorst reported that the seven-time all-star has been getting constant treatment for the previous two days and that his foot feels better.
You have to believe that the team will err on the side of caution with James and Wade, because if even one of them has to miss a substantial amount of time in the regular season, or postseason, for that matter, they are doomed.
