Kirk Cousins, Kyle Pitts, More Updated Falcons Fantasy Outlook After QB's Contract
The Atlanta Falcons have solidified the quarterback position.
The Falcons reached a four-year deal with free-agent quarterback Kirk Cousins on Monday, per his agent Mike McCartney. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the deal is worth $180 million and has a $50 million signing bonus.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Cousins gets $100 million guaranteed and will be under contract through his age-39 season.
He has thrown for 39,471 yards in his career with 270 touchdowns and 110 interceptions. He has eclipsed 4,000 passing yards seven times and has been named to four Pro Bowls.
He had an excellent start to the 2023 season with 2,331 passing yards and 18 touchdowns with just five interceptions through eight games. A torn Achilles would end his season at this point, and the Falcons will hope he can return to form.
Fantasy Outlook for Kirk Cousins
While Cousins will not have Justin Jefferson to throw to in Atlanta, he will not be lacking in weapons.
Atlanta have two former top-ten picks in wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts as potential pass-catchers for Cousins, as well as 2023 No. 8 pick Bijan Robinson as a talented young running back. The Falcons offense was plagued by poor quarterback play in 2023, and the hope is that Cousins can help the unit reach its potential in a weak NFC South.
Fantasy Outlook for Kyle Pitts, Drake London, Bijan Robinson and Falcons Offense
London led the Falcons in receiving yards with 905 while Pitts was next with 667. Robinson led the team in receiving touchdowns with four, as only eight players recorded a receiving touchdown for the team in the 2023 season.
With Cousins in the fold, that number will increase as he threw 15 in 2023 during just eight games. Atlanta only had 17 total in 2023.
London has the most potential to jump up in fantasy rankings, as he has been a very solid receiver across his two seasons but has had his fantasy output impacted by a lack of touchdowns. He only has six career touchdowns through two seasons, but as the likely top option for Cousins, that total could significantly rise and could help him become a WR1 for fantasy owners.
Pitts should also benefit with a stronger presence at quarterback, as he notably recorded a 1,026 yard season in 2021 and has also been hurt by a lack of touchdowns. If he were to rise to his potential, he could be a starting-caliber tight end for fantasy owners.
Robinson had eight total touchdowns in 2023 and was a solid fantasy performer. He should only improve and be more dynamic with better quarterback play and a full offseason. He likely already was an early running back pick and that status will only rise.
