Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Here is a look at the Raiders depth chart for its defensive line.
LDE: Maxx Crosby, Janarius Robinson, Charles Snowden, David Agoha
LDT: Christian Wilkins, John Jenkins, Byron Young, Nesta Jade Silvera
RDT: Bilal Nichols, Adam Butler, Matthew Butler
RDE: Malcolm Koonce, Tyree Wilson, Elerson Smith
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated projected that Wilkins would be the "top paid nonquarterback" and that he could get a deal in the $20 million to $25 million per year range. He instead exceeds that range with the base value being $27.5 million per year, and his minimum salary would be equivalent to $21.1 million.
According to Over The Cap, the Raiders entered free agency with $36.1 million in cap space. This will likely leave the team with approximately $8.6 million for additional free agents.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic had reported that the former Dolphin was set to have a "robust market" and that teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans and Detroit Lions were expected to be suitors for his services. Instead, Las Vegas swoops in and brings Wilkins in to play alongside Maxx Crosby on a formidable Raiders defensive line.
Wilkins just wrapped up his fifth season in the NFL and has registered 20.5 sacks, 204 solo tackles and four forced fumbles in his career. He had nine sacks, 65 total tackles and 23 quarterback hits in 2023.
NFL free agency officially opens up Wednesday at 4 p.m, although teams are currently able to negotiate with players during the legal tampering window.
