Crufts Dog Show 2024 Results: Final Winners, Top Photos and Reaction
The 2024 Crufts Dog Show concluded on Sunday at the NEC in Birmingham, with 24,000 dogs around the world vying for the prestigious honor of Best in Show.
The award went to Viking the Australian shepherd, becoming the second of its breed to earn the title of Best in Show. The three-year-old dog was also the winner of the pastoral group earlier in the day.
Viking is from Solihull, Birmingham and is co-owned by Melanie Raymond, John Shaw and Kerry Kirtley. Raymond was impressed with the Australian shepherd, expressing her pride in the dog when asked if it lived up to expectations.
"He did actually, I should never doubt him because he always gives me everything and you come in and he's like 'yep, come on let's do this'. So he loves every minute of it," she said, per the broadcast.
Zen, a Jack Russell terrier from Japan, was named reserve dog. The nine-year-old also won the terrier group prior to the Best in Show results. The other major Day 4 winner was Get Me, a Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen who took home first-place in the hound group.
Meanwhile, the Flyball competition featured a surprising winner. In the final matchup between two teams, Watson's Legacy and the Road Runners, Watson's Legacy emerged victorious.
The Road Runners team previously won the event in both 2022 and 2023, although they finished in second place.
However, the star of the day is undoubtedly Viking the Australian shepherd after winning the Best in Show award.
