Baker Mayfield's Comeback Celebrated by NFL Fans After $100M Contract with Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield is returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after signing a three-year, $100 million deal.

The deal comes following his first season as Tampa Bay's starter when he racked up 4,044 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, leading the Bucs to a divisional-round appearance.

Mayfield, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, was the starter for the Cleveland Browns for four seasons, but failed to find a starting role over the last few years. He took over in Tampa Bay with big shoes to fill after Tom Brady retired, and he exceeded expectations in 2023.

The sixth-year quarterback has been looking for a permanent home after bouncing from the Browns to the Carolina Panthers to the Los Angeles Rams between 2021 and 2022, and it seems he could have found it in Tampa Bay. After Mayfield inked his deal, fans celebrated the comeback he has made.

Now with his deal settled, Mayfield is looking to continue getting better over the offseason and look to lead the Bucs to more success in his second season under center.
