Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will miss the team's next two games against the San Antonio Spurs with a right ankle sprain and will be reevaluated on Tuesday, the team announced Saturday.

Golden State hosts the Spurs on Saturday and will then travel to San Antonio for a matchup with the team on Monday.

The four-time NBA champion and two-time NBA MVP suffered a sprained right ankle during his team's 125-122 home loss to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, March 7.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported the following day that Curry was expected to miss "at least a game or few games." Wojnarowski added that an MRI came back clean and he wouldn't "miss much time."

The Warriors confirmed as much over the weekend.

Curry is posting 26.9 points (44.9 percent from field, 40.7 percent three), 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game for the 33-29 Warriors, who appear destined to fight for their playoff lives in the play-in tournament.

He missed two games in November with right knee soreness and one more in January (rest) but otherwise suited up for every other game until the ankle ailment occurred.

Without Curry, the Warriors have Brandin Podziemski to run the point in the starting lineup, with 19-year veteran Chris Paul coming off the bench for more support. Draymond Green can also help facilitate the offense, and Klay Thompson can get more run at guard as well.

Obviously, the Warriors need Curry healthy and available as much as possible in order to make a championship run, though, as they hope for their fifth title in 10 years.
