Free-agent safety Xavier McKinney, who played four seasons with the New York Giants, is now reportedly headed to the Green Bay Packers on a four-year, $68 million deal, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It comes after the Packers added running Josh Jacobs in free agency earlier Monday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

McKinney, a second-round pick in the 2020 draft, just started all 17 games and compiled 116 tackles (78 solo), three interceptions (two in Week 18 vs. the Philadelphia Eagles), 11 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.

This was undoubtedly his best season. He also just allowed a paltry 69.8 passer rating in his coverage, per Pro Football Reference. PFF gave him a 87.8 grade, fourth-best at his position leaguewide.

Pro Football Focus listed McKinney 43rd overall on its 2024 free agents list and fourth among safeties.

Ultimately, McKinney was able to parlay a successful 2023 season into a great payday with Green Bay, which fortifies its secondary with an uber-active playmaker in the run and pass games.
