Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid didn't contemplate stepping away from football despite rumors surrounding his retirement.

"No, not really," Reid said when asked if he thought about retiring in an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show.

"I'm getting asked that question every five minutes, and that's not where I'm at right now," he later added. "I don't feel that way, that I need to retire right now"

The 65-year-old is one of the most accomplished coaches in NFL history, with a career record of 258-144-1 since he became the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999. In fact, his 258 regular-season victories rank No. 4 among head coaches all-time.

With the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots parting ways with Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick respectively, Reid is now the oldest head coach in the NFL.

Given his age as well as his three championships, the former Coach of the Year winner was asked about a possible retirement after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58. Reid explained to reporters that the thought of stepping away from the game had not crossed his mind.

"Honestly, I haven't even thought about it, but I get asked it," he said, per Michael Baca of NFL.com. "I mean, I'm still kind of in awe of the game and what went on there, so I really haven't thought why or what or anything else."

With retirement seemingly out of the question, Reid will instead focus on helping the Chiefs potentially earn a third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
