NFL Rumors: Cowboys Seen as 'a Good' Landing Spot for Top Free-Agent LB Jordyn Brooks
The Dallas Cowboys could be an ideal destination for linebacker Jordyn Brooks in free agency.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted that Dallas is "a good fit" for Brooks after he spent the first four seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks declined his fifth-year option as he was recovering from a torn ACL in the 2023 offseason.
The Cowboys could be in the market for linebacking help after they didn't get much production from the position in 2023. Leighton Vander Esch has typically anchored Dallas' linebacker corps over the past few years, although a neck injury ended his 2023 season and put his long-term NFL future in jeopardy (via Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News).

Dallas signed former first-round pick Rashaan Evans to help provide a boost to the unit in the wake of Vander Esch's injury, although he accumulated just nine tackles in nine appearances while earning a paltry 45.8 grade from Pro Football Focus.
Brooks could be a potential solution at the position moving forward, as he's surpassed 110 combined tackles in each of his previous three seasons. He also recorded a career-high 4.5 sacks in 2023, with eight total tackles for loss.
The Texas native could be enticed by the prospect of playing close to home, while getting a starting job on a team that has made the playoffs in five of the past eight seasons.
