Draymond Green: 'Nothing but Love' for Kevin Durant After Nurkić Altercation Comments
Draymond Green has made his share of enemies throughout his NBA career, but it doesn't appear Kevin Durant is among them despite their brief verbal back-and-forth in the aftermath of the Golden State Warriors forward's altercation with Jusuf Nurkić earlier this season.
On 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, Green explained he's got "nothing but love" for Durant (starts at 1:08:53 mark):
"I respect KD as a basketball player. He's one of the best we've ever seen, and that's kind of where it's at. I got no ill will. I actually got nothing but love for KD, actually. But love is love. You know what I'm saying, my love? Like, if I got love for you, my love just don't fade. My s--t ain't going tomorrow. No, if I got love for you, I got love for you, and I got love for K. That ain't going nowhere. You know what I'm saying? That's going to always be that. That's just how I am. You know what I'm saying? Once I got love for you, bro. You got to do some crazy f--ked up s--t for me to not have love for you no more.

"And although I think he did some wild s--t recently like you go on TV—bro you got my phone number—you go on TV tell me I hope he gets the help. You [Melo] hit me, you know what I'm saying? You hit me like, I'm here for you, you need anything I'm here for you bro. If that's how you feel, hit me, you know what I'm saying? So I thought that was wild. It rubbed me the wrong way, but I got none but love for KD always. You know what I'm saying? That's that we don't need to talk everyday or nothing like that."
Green struck Nurkić in the face during a Dec. 12 game between the Warriors and Phoenix Suns. The NBA issued an indefinite suspension to the four-time All-Star as a result of the incident.
Speaking to reporters about the league's decision, Durant said he hoped Green got the "help he needs." That prompted Green to say on the Jan. 8 episode of his podcast he was "pissed" about what his former teammate said.
Durant clarified after a Suns loss to the Los Angeles Clippers the same day Green's podcast dropped he "didn't mean no ill will by what I said."
The league reinstated Green on Jan. 6 and he returned to the court on Jan. 15. There didn't appear to be any lingering resentment between the two when the Suns and Warriors played on Feb. 10.
