Terry Roberts, NBA G League Player, Wounded by Stray Bullet in Philadelphia Shooting

Long Island Nets guard Terry Roberts was shot in the chest by a stray bullet Sunday after gunfire broke out outside a Philadelphia bar.

"Terry Roberts was the victim of a crime on Sunday morning in Philadelphia, and we are in the process of gathering more information about the incident," the Long Island Nets said in a statement. "He is currently in stable condition, and he is expected to make a full recovery. Our thoughts are with him and family at this time. Due to the ongoing law enforcement investigation, we will have no further comment."

Police say Roberts was not involved in an altercation that broke out Sunday just before 1 a.m. ET outside the 5th Street Lounge in Philadelphia. However, he was struck in the chest when shots were fired by unknown suspects.

Four people fled the scene and are being sought by police for questioning.

"It's been tough," Terrace Roberts, Terry's father, told 6ABC. "An avalanche of emotions, internal pain and handling the situation at hand."

Roberts, who played college basketball at Bradley and Georgia, signed with the Nets' G League affiliate in October. He's averaging 6.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
