Keeping Cody Rhodes vs. Bloodline Fresh, Drew McIntyre's 'Mania Fate, More Raw Takes
Every roadblock is out of the way as WWE drives toward WrestleMania 40, and the February 26 edition of Raw pushed that momentum forward.
Cody Rhodes defeated Grayson Waller in dominant fashion and then promised to go Bloodline-hunting all the way to The Show of Shows on April 6-7.
Drew McIntyre continued to antagonize everyone in his path, and with his focus solely on the World Heavyweight Championship, it is time to give him his 'Mania moment.
Becky Lynch tried to turn her focus to Rhea Ripley, but Nia Jax attacked her Monday. The Man returned the favor in Jax's match with Liv Morgan, but she may have created a new rival instead.
Gunther has many men stepping up to challenge him including Sami Zayn, Chad Gable, Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest and Andrade. The best option is to let them all challenge for the Intercontinental Championship.
It's an exciting time for WWE, and Raw has set up some interesting stories for the coming weeks on the Road to WrestleMania.
How WWE Can Keep Rhodes vs. Bloodline Feud Fresh Until WrestleMania
1 of 4Cody Rhodes is the hottest babyface in WWE, and fans would accept anything he does at this time. It's important that the company does not rely upon that popularity alone, though.
With Roman Reigns, The Rock and Seth Rollins in the mix, this is the most important story in WWE.
Since it will play out on every Raw and SmackDown for the next six weeks, WWE must get creative with the build. Everyone involved has said their piece on the mic, but they need an extra spark.
The creative team should build this with unique flair by finding an angle that can get everyone talking.
Let both Rhodes and The Bloodline tell more of the story of their families. The WWE promo team make great video packages that could highlight Dusty Rhodes and the Anoa'i family.
Take advantage of The Rock's star power to do more outside the ring. The American Nightmare could confront The Great One at an interview or press event to make it feel more real.
Get physical and ramp up the intensity between Rhodes and Reigns. The Tribal Chief needs to appear more often, perhaps in an attack on Raw to lay out The American Nightmare or Rollins to set up an injury angle ahead of WrestleMania 40.
Present a unified front with The American Nightmare, The Visionary and Jey Uso, who all have a grievance with The Bloodline. They can gatecrash SmackDown and confront The Rock, Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.
These are just a few of the many exciting possible angles WWE can take, but it must do more to keep this feud hot and not overexpose it.
Best 'Mania Plan for Gunther is Multi-Man Contest
2 of 4Gunther is the longest reigning intercontinental champion in WWE history. Ideally, he would have a clear challenger for WrestleMania who could dethrone him.
However, on a card packed with singles matches already, The Ring General may need to settle for a multi-man title defense against various competitors.
Sami Zayn and Chad Gable both have interesting cases, and Dominik Mysterio has earned a major spotlight at The Show of Shows beyond backing up Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day.
A fresh Andrade, who is still figuring out his role in WWE but will deliver on a major stage, could be added. WWE could also use Bronson Reed or Ivar, who have done the work to earn their own title opportunity.
This does make it unlikely Gunther will lose, but he shouldn't drop his record-setting reign in any other way than one-on-one.
However, this contest would keep the momentum of The Ring General and get more stars on the bill. That is the best option on such a stacked card.
Liv Morgan Poised for Heel Turn
3 of 4A week ahead of Elimination Chamber, Liv Morgan's place on the road to WrestleMania was growing more uncertain. However, WWE has teased a clearer direction for her future.
The 29-year-old is growing more frustrated with all the obstacles in her way, coming close but not getting what she wants.
In particular, her ire is slowly turning from Rhea Ripley to Becky Lynch, who has taken her spot and keeps interfering in her story.
This could set up perfectly for a heel turn that can keep Morgan in the WrestleMania conversation, even if she doesn't get a formal match.
She could have one of the biggest moments at The Show of Shows if she turns heel on the night, costing The Man her title shot or ruining the moment after the match for both Ripley and Lynch.
Drew McIntyre Must Win the Big One at WrestleMania
4 of 4Drew McIntyre remains the best character on Raw. His heel persona is lightning in a bottle, and he has kept his momentum week after week.
Meanwhile, Seth Rollins seems more focused on The Bloodline drama than his own World Heavyweight Championship.
This not only opens the door for The Scottish Warrior to win big but also set up a dominant new champion in 2024.
McIntyre's story is focused on holding a world championship at WrestleMania in front of a live crowd. This is the perfect chance for him to complete that story.
While the Scot and Rollins both have angles with CM Punk left to explore, McIntyre's feud with The Best in the World feels like the most urgent angle once he is healthy.
Everything will come together on Raw with McIntyre in the lead as the world champion.
