NFL Draft 2024 Rumors: Jayden Daniels' Height, Hand Size Doesn't Concern Patriots
Neither height nor hand size will be a disqualifying factor as the New England Patriots consider LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels among their options with the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, according to The Athletic's Chad Graff.
At 6'4", Daniels isn't exactly small for his position, but he is a bit slim. Graff reported "scouts want to see him at or above 210 pounds at the combine because there are concerns about his slight frame and the big hits he too often takes."
Like his height, Daniels' hand size (9 5/8 inches) isn't all that notable compared to other QBs in the NFL.
Daniels plans to attend the NFL Scouting Combine but won't throw in Indianapolis, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He's waiting until LSU's pro day on March 27 to work out.
No quarterback rose up draft boards as the 2023 season unfolded more than Daniels. His 3,812 passing yards, 40 touchdowns and 72.2 percent completion rate were all career highs, and he eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards for the first time.
There are some question marks with Daniels, namely how much his 2023 breakout was representative of his value going forward when he had been a talented yet mostly anonymous quarterback before that.
But it's hard to see how the combine or LSU's pro day will raise any red flags that send him tumbling down the draft.
