Cody Rhodes Challenges The Rock to WWE Match Ahead of Roman Reigns WrestleMania Bout

If The Rock wants a main event match at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is ready to give it to him even though he's already booked to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

During an episode of The Grayson Waller Effect at Elimination Chamber, The American Nightmare challenged The Great One to a match "anytime, any place."

It will be interesting to see if WWE ends up going with a one-on-one match between Rhodes and The Rock, perhaps on the first night of WrestleMania.

The more-likely scenario based on what has been setup on television and the WrestleMania press conference in Las Vegas is a tag match with Rhodes and Seth Rollins, who was also on the Grayson Waller Effect, against Rock and Reigns.

There is a scenario that could play out with Rhodes and Rock in a one-on-one bout. Cody originally said on the Feb. 2 episode of SmackDown that "finishing the story" was as much about taking everything from Reigns as it was winning the title.

If it's assumed the Bloodline is everything to Reigns, and The Rock was officially introduced as the newest member of the group last week, then Rhodes would have the opportunity to dismantle it by taking out the Brahma Bull on WrestleMania Saturday.

All of these are questions that will certainly be answered in the coming weeks. WrestleMania is still six weeks away, so there's a lot of television time for things to get figured out.

Whatever the result ends up being, it's all trending toward The Rock wrestling his first real match since losing to John Cena at WrestleMania 29. His bout with Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 was a glorified squash that went six seconds.
