Kieonna Christmas Posts Quintuple-Double in HSBB Game; 10th Player to Accomplish Feat
Fonda-Fultonville senior forward Kieonna Christmas recorded a feat in December 2023 that has rarely been seen throughout the history of high school basketball.
In a 55-50 win against Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons, Christmas posted a quintuple-double. She dropped 11 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals and 10 blocks.
According to Kevin Askeland of MaxPreps.com, she became the 10th prep player to ever record double figures in at least five statistical categories during one game. With her historic performance, Christmas also posted the 13th quintuple-double ever recorded in high school basketball.
Of the 13 times that the unique stat line has been achieved, 10 have been recorded by female players. The first recorded instance is from WNBA legend Tamika Catchings, as the Hall of Fame forward scored 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in a 1997 game in Texas. Catchings also posted 11 assists, 10 steals, and 10 blocked shots.
Prior to Christmas, the last high school player to put up a quintuple-double was Thomas Armbruster in January 2023. The Summit Classical Christian School guard put up 31 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 13 steals and 11 blocks.
Christmas etched her name into history books with her dominant performance, one that won't be forgotten anytime soon.
