Tiger Woods' Son Charlie to Compete in Pre-Qualifier for PGA Tour's Cognizant Classic
Charlie Woods, the son of Tiger Woods, will compete in the pre-qualifier for the Cognizant Classic at Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, on Thursday.
Woods tees off at 7:39 a.m. ET with Olin Browne Jr. and Ruaidhri Mcgee.
The top 25 players from the four pre-qualifying events will then be moved to Monday's qualifier. The top four players from that event will then be moved into the field at the Cognizant Classic.
At age 15, Charlie Woods will be the youngest player attempting to make the field for the PGA Tour event. If he qualifies, the event would mark his PGA debut.
Woods has played four times in the PNC Championship pro-am event with his father, including last December.
While it would not be an all-time record, Charlie Woods qualifying would mark a rare occurrence in the golf world. Last year, 15-year-old Oliver Betschart became the youngest player to compete in a PGA event since 2014.
Betschart missed the cut at the 2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
