Warriors' Draymond Green Says He Needs to 'Popcorn' Brandin Podziemski's Car

Golden State Warriors rookie Brandin Podziemski has not taken long to ingratiate himself with the team's veteran-laden roster.

Draymond Green told Anthony Slater of The Athletic that Podziemski is the most active member of the team's group chat and even talks smack, sending old pictures of Green within the chat.

"He was like: 'Wham. Wham. Wham,'" Green said. "I still gotta popcorn his car."

Popcorning someone's car is a pretty self-explanatory rookie hazing prank. Veterans get a carload full of popcorn and then proceed to dump it inside the car of the rookie. The Warriors veterans famously did this to Kent Bazemore a decade ago.

Podziemski's rookie campaign is off to a promising start, with the Santa Clara guard averaging 9.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists through his first 47 games. He recently replaced Klay Thompson in the Warriors' starting lineup ahead of the All-Star break.

"From that competitiveness comes confidence," Podziemski said of his style of play. "Knowing how much you put into the game, why would you come in here nervous or timid?"

Suffice it to say, the Warriors veteran core is already warming up to the confident 20-year-old.
