Nelson Agholor, Ravens Agree to 1-Year Contract Extension Ahead of NFL Free Agency

Andrew PetersFeb 18, 2024

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Nelson Agholor will return for a second season in Baltimore after receiving a one-year contract extension, the team announced on Sunday.

The details of Agholor's extension are not clear yet, but the one-year deal that brought him to Baltimore last year was worth $3.25 million. Agholor was set to enter free agency this offseason before the extension.

Agholor, who will be in his 10th NFL campaign in 2024, recorded 381 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 35 receptions last season. He had 51 yards and a touchdown in the postseason for the Ravens.

Agholor, 30, has bounced around between a few teams throughout his career, but has been a consistent receiving option wherever he has been. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 and spent his first five seasons there. After spending one season with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, he joined the New England Patriots for two seasons before landing in Baltimore.

His best season came in 2020 with the Raiders when he notched 896 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as one of Las Vegas' top receiving options. While he isn't a main option for quarterback Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, he's proven to be valuable in some key moments, like in the AFC Divisional Round when he caught a go-ahead touchdown in the first half against the Houston Texans.

Now, Agholor will be looking for a big year after his extension. The Ravens are coming off a strong regular season that ended with a disappointing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship.
