Damian Lillard did it again.

The eight-time All-Star defended his Starry Three-Point Contest crown during 2024 NBA All-Star Saturday Night, winning the competition for the second year in a row. Lillard posted a score of 26 points in the opening round and advanced past a tiebreaker before putting up an identical 26 points in the final round to win the event.

Lillard's second consecutive victory didn't come easy, as the 2024 field of participants was extremely competitive. All eight players in the contest scored at least 20 points in the opening round.

First Round Scores

  1. Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks: 26 points
  2. Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves: 26 points
  3. Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks: 26 points
  4. Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana Pacers: 26 points
  5. Lauri Markkanen, Utah Jazz: 25 points
  6. Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks: 24 points
  7. Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers: 21 points
  8. Malik Beasley, Milwaukee Bucks: 20 points

With only three spots available in the final round and four players notching a score of 26, a tiebreaker was needed to decide who would advance. In the brief 40-second round for each participant, Haliburton was eliminated after recording 12 points. Lillard, Young, and Towns moved on to the final.

  3. Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves: 22 points

In his fifth time competing in the event, Lillard hoisted his second straight trophy. He becomes the first player to win the Three-Point Contest in consecutive years since former Toronto Raptors wing Jason Kapono achieved the feat in 2007 and 2008.

NBA fans and players alike were impressed with Lillard's clutch victory, as he earned the win on his last shot of the final round.

Although he's only shooting 34.1 percent from behind the arc this season, Lillard has already cemented himself as one of the greatest long-range shooters in NBA history and showed it once again on Saturday night.
