Giannis: 'Put All My Money' on Sabrina Ionescu vs. Steph Curry in 3-Point Contest
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is leaving his NBA allegiances at the door when it comes to Stephen Curry's upcoming three-point battle with Sabrina Ionescu.
"I put all my money on Sabrina," he said to Boardroom's Nick DePaula.
The New York Liberty star put on a show during last year's WNBA Three-Point Contest. Her final-round score of 37 was a record across the WNBA and NBA events.
For years, WNBA fans have pushed to see the league's three-point champion pitted against their NBA equivalent. Now, they're finally getting their wish after the NBA announced a head-to-head matchup between Ionescu and Curry to unfold during All-Star Weekend.
The Golden State Warriors star is the NBA's unquestioned three-point king. He's a career 42.7 percent shooter from beyond the arc and the runaway all-time leader in made threes (3,640).
Ionescu could be a formidable challenger, though. Her performance in the 2023 Three-Point Contest coincided with her best year as a shooter. She knocked down 44.8 percent of her long-range attempts.
Even Klay Thompson, Curry's teammate in Golden State, is siding with the two-time WNBA All-Star.
Pretty much anybody would be considered the underdog against Curry in a situation like this, but the expectations surrounding Ionescu are through the roof.
